We have been part of the bidi industry for over a century. Our brand, Oont Bidi, has built a premium position in the market by consistently earning the trust of smokers. Completing more than 100 years in this segment is not just a milestone for us—it reflects the collective contribution of our internal and external stakeholders, and we express our gratitude towards them.

🌱 Sustaining Livelihoods Since 1922

We started our business in 1922 with a small-scale operation, and despite the decline in the bidi trend, we organized ourselves and made the business sustainable. A key part of our identity lies in working with cooperative societies, many led by women from rural areas where families depend on bidi rolling for their livelihood. Today, more than 15,000 members and their families sustain themselves through this work, supported by the orders we place.

🌍 Commitment Beyond Business

The ethos and ingrained culture percolated from our founder, Pujya Bastiramji (Mamaji), guide us to remain committed to the economic well-being of bidi rollers. Wherever possible, we aim to strengthen these communities by promoting education, employability, and the growth of their children. Our approach to business remains rooted in responsibility—towards smokers, our stakeholders, and the bidi rollers whose livelihoods we support.
